County per diem lookupWhich GSA rate applies, and where that month stands

A per diem rate belongs to a county, and most counties use the standard $113 lodging and $68 M&IE. Type a county, or a place GSA names, and see which rate applies in the month you pick. The answer also ranks that month’s cap among the 295 listed areas.

How to use it

Enter the county where you will sleep. The state narrows the answer, which matters because county names repeat: Jefferson County alone belongs to 6 different listed areas. Leave the state on “Any state” to see them all, sorted by that month’s cap. Choosing a state with the name left empty lists that state’s areas.

The index holds 351 counties and parishes, 16 independent cities and city-limit definitions, and 322 further places named in GSA’s destination titles. It does not hold every town: if your town is not found, find out which county it is in and search for that. The page address keeps your choice, so a result can be bookmarked or sent to a colleague.

What the numbers mean

Lodging cap is the most GSA allows per night in that month, before taxes. M&IE is the flat daily rate for meals and incidentals. Rank compares the month’s cap with the same month in the other areas on the FY 2027 list; a rank of 1st is the highest, and equal caps share a rank.

When a county is not found, the standard rate applies to it. The tool also knows the 30 counties that have left GSA’s list since FY 2021, and says when they left.

Scope: the 48 contiguous states and DC, FY 2026 and FY 2027. GSA’s definitions decide; this is a reading of its files, not a ruling on any trip. Source: GSA per diem files.
